0. tl;dr (non-binding, vibes only)

• this is a comedy personality test, not the DSM-VI.
• be 13+. don't be a creep. don't be a fed.
• your free-text answers go to an LLM, get a result, then are forgotten.
• the public result page (archetype, axes, your optional caption / advice / comment) is, shockingly, public.
• we're not your therapist, lawyer, doctor, recruiter, or imam.

2. eligibility

you must be at least 13 years old to use this site. if COPPA applies to you, kindly ask the responsible adult to take the quiz on your behalf, then go finish your homework.

if you're under 18, by submitting answers you represent that a parent or legal guardian has read these terms and rolled their eyes in approval.

3. data we touch

in the spirit of operating a website that the FTC has heard of, here is the unromantic list of what we actually handle:

• quiz answers.sent to a third-party LLM provider for classification. they're held in memory long enough to score you and are not retained on our database. the provider has its own retention policy; assume the worst, write the joke version.
• your result. the archetype, axes, generated blurb, and your optional caption / advice / write-in comment are stored in our database under a random uuid and made publicly accessible at /result/[id]. anyone with the link can see them. that's the entire point.
• age & gender (M / F / X). optional, used for the "X% of {cohort}" stat on the result. don't submit it if you don't want to.
• device id (anon uid). a random cookie-ish id we stamp on your browser so the "guess my type" loop and friend graph don't devolve into self-guessing chaos. not tied to your name, email, phone, soul, or finsta.
• ip hash. we hash your ip and use the hash for rate-limiting and basic abuse prevention. we do not store the raw ip. we are not interested in where you live, peter thiel.
• standard server / hosting logs. kept by our infra providers (vercel, cloudflare, supabase) under their own terms. we use them to keep the lights on.

4. user content

Any free-text you enter (answers, captions, advice, comments) is considered "user content." Once you submit a comment, you cannot edit or delete it from your side. Anyone with your result link can see it. There is no undo.

By submitting user content, you give basedmbti the right to use, display, reproduce, and promote your content worldwide, for free, including in marketing or memes. You still own your content, but we can use it. You must have the rights to what you submit and ensure it does not break any laws or infringe someone else’s rights.

We can remove any content at any time for any reason. Content will be removed especially if it contains harassment, slurs, doxxing, illegal material, spam, ads, scams, or anything grossly inappropriate. Do not submit anything you would not want shared publicly or anything illegal.

5. acceptable use

Do not use this website for anything illegal or harmful. Specifically, you may not:

• Scrape, overload, or attack the website or its APIs.
• Try to reverse-engineer or exploit the quiz logic.
• Pretend to be someone you’re not or impersonate others in submissions.
• Submit someone else’s personal information (names, addresses, etc.).
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or incite hate towards anyone.
• Upload viruses, malware, or attempt any kind of system or AI attack.
• Use this site’s data to build a competing product.
• Do anything on this site that could result in legal action against you or us.

6. ai output disclaimer

Quiz results, blurbs, and generated text come from an AI model. They may be inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate. They do not represent the opinions of basedmbti, its operators, partners, or anyone else. Do not treat anything on this site as medical, legal, or professional advice. Use at your own risk.

7. intellectual property & takedown

The site’s code, design, text, pixel art, and archetype taxonomy are owned or licensed by basedmbti. Do not copy or reuse them without permission. Third-party references and memes are used under fair use or similar principles. If you own something used here and want it removed, email hi@basedmbti.com with details.

8. deleting your result

If you want your quiz result deleted, email hi@basedmbti.com with the result link. We’ll honor reasonable requests. You’ll need to show the result is yours (generally, prove you have the share token from your browser). Deletion is permanent on our end, but we cannot control copies or screenshots made by third parties.

9. no warranty

This website is provided “as is” and “as available.” There are no guarantees of reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose. Use at your own risk.

10. limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, basedmbti and those involved with the project are not liable for any damages or losses from use of the site, including lost data, lost profits, or anything else. Maximum total liability is what you paid us (which is $0) or $1, whichever is more, and only in USD.

11. indemnification

If your actions on this site cause us legal trouble, you are responsible for covering any losses, costs, or fees that result (including attorney fees).

12. governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by Delaware, USA law. Any disputes must go to courts in Delaware. No class actions. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.

13. changes

We may change these terms at any time. The “last updated” date at the top is authoritative. Continued use means you accept any changes. If you disagree, stop using the site.
